I typed "sudo rm -r /etc/X11" in the Terminal... :lolflag:
Now, what should I do? Reinstall the xserver? How?

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

copy it back over from the live cd.

Ok, I'll try that.
If that doesn't work then I'll try kerry_s's solution.
