View Full Version : [kde] KTTY - not implemented in KDE4 yet?

I'm playing arround with KDE4 trying to get its admin features working (like installing kuser-kde4 user administration etc. which isn't included with kubuntu).

I thought I would try text-to-speech as it could be fun to see if it still reads out like MS Sam (which was fun when you were younger) or if it's better nowadays. Like trying to get it to read emails for me, so I can lean back while checking my mail :D

Anyway I was wondering how to set this up in KDE4, when trying to install
kttsd-kde4 aptitude says there is no candidate version available.

Could be a big downside for the visually impaired, if it isn't working...

Should I install another package first or just isn't it implemented yet?

Thanks :)

It is still undergoing the conversion to KDE4 from what I found.

Keep in mind that even if KDE 4.1 is out, with their slogan of "Don't look back", not all applications have been ported yet. It's a lot of work. So expect to still be using KDE 3.5 if you need it.
