Ok first things first, my system spec:

P4, 3.06 GHz
1 Gb RAM
MSI 845GE Max mainboard
Onboard graphics (for now)

Ubuntu 8.04.1

When I try to boot with my graphics card in (ATI Radeon 9250 - 128MB PCI card), and I - finally - manage to reach the splash screen, it rips and part of the progress bar is moved and I get blue lines across my screen. The boot then stops and nothing happens (I have tried waiting several hours).

I managed to boot properly when I have removed the card but found it to be very slow... increasing the onboard memory allocated to video from 1 - 8 MB has solved much of this slowness.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get some help with making my card work. I'm a linux newbie so I don't know the first place to start. I tried searching the ati website for linux drivers and it brought up something about X.org. I'd really appreciate if someone could point me in the direction of getting my drivers installed, thanks
