View Full Version : [kubuntu] Unable to connect to WiFi with my Intel wireless card

Hello everyone,
today I installed Kubuntu 8.04 for the first time, and everything runs fine, except for one thing. When I try to connect to my router with my Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 ABG, it cannot recognize the network.
Since I'm dual-booting with Windows, I double-checked that the network is accessible from this point, and that I have the correct SSID and WEP.

Here's exactly what happens: I right-click on the KNetworkManager and choose "Connect to Other Wireless Network". I enter the correct SSID and WEP, verify that the device chosen is "Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (wlan0)", and click connect. It displays a progress bar, which stays for a while on "Activation Stage: Configuring Device" (28%), and then dissappears, stating "NetworkManager is not running". It won't run again until I restart the system.

If there's any more info I should supply, please tell me.
Thanks for the help!
