View Full Version : [ubuntu] Network manager and unsecured wireless connections

August 8th, 2008, 02:14 AM
Hi folks!

I'm brand spanking new to Ubuntu, so forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question. I've spent the last hour with google with no luck

I can use my wireless connection on my home network with a wpa key, but there is no option to use the wireless network at work where there is no key required. Network manager requires that you enter a wep or wpa key to connect to a network. How do I get around this??

I know the name of the network at work. It is an open unsecured network and I have permission to use it. Any help would be appreciated!!

Ensure the properties of wireless connection is set for "roaming".
