It is a packard bell with a pentium 70mhz, 16 MB RAM, and 1 GB hard drive. And a CD drive.

What can I do with it? Any linux distros? I heard ubuntus installer needs more RAM to work. I want to just get it installed to the hard drive and have openbox with dillo for web browsing. DSL worked along time ago, but I tried it again and it wouldent boot up. Said invalid disk for knoppix or something.

On another note, I am about to install cedega 5.0 :) Im so excited.

WIth one install of a .deb, I got a nice setup screen, then I have a GUI for cedega. Awesome ;)

I think Damn Small Linux might be able to work on that thing.

you could go all hard core and try linux from scratch (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/). you'd probably need to do the compiling on another computer and move the files across.

or prehaps your local freecycle (http://www.freecycle.org/) if you have no use for it.

you could stick dos or freedos (http://www.freedos.org/) in it if you don't have it, n just use it for playing older games. not much you can do with linux on it.. just what you can do normally just slower and less pritty.

Hi! You could look at this (http://www.logicalsky.com/Windows31_FAQ.htm) link:

If you have an older 3.1 machine that you are trying to get onto the Internet, this FAQ is for you!

Firewall/router would be the only use I'd have for it, although only for experimental purposes, as I already have a Dlink router. You could recycle it, or donate it to charity, though, I don't see how anyone could find it any good for normal day-to-day use.

I think you can still download Mozaic. Or lynx.

Are you kidding me? The best way to play some Ultima III or Wasteland without all those hacking and emulators and slowdown apps and suchlike.
