Well theres a few things i want and want to do.
1) A good, really cool wallpaper, like a hacker wallpaper or something.
2) When you right click on the desktop the applications, place and system comes up. If you ever used Back track 2 or 3 you know what i mean :D
3) A 3D icon tray like Mac OS.
4) WHat ever you think i should try out.

So, any ideas or items? thanks!

http://gnome-look.org

3) A 3D icon tray like Mac OS.

Cairo dock?

sudo apt-get install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins

You may need to add the repo by

wget -q http://repository.cairo-dock.org/ubuntu/cairo-dock.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

4) WHat ever you think i should try out.

Emerald, COmpiz etc

1. Visit interfacelift or the various -look sites. Also consider making your own with this tutorial (http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_GIMP_Fractal_Backgrounds).

2. Xfce and *box/Pekwm all provide this functionality (I think that KDE 3.5 does too). Any WM could have this using 9menu.

3. I don't know about this.

4. Test out Xfce, and, once you're comfortable, lighter window managers such as Openbox, Fluxbox, and Pekwm. Once you're familiar with those, test out tiling window managers such as Xmonad, dwm, and Awesome.

1) I find wallpapers by searching for something I'm interested in. I usually have a topic in mind.

2) Use Xfce, Openbox, Fluxbox, or PekWM. If you don't want a more "automated" menu, use xfce. Openbox and PekWM are the most barebones (Openbox being far better, IMO), and Fluxbox is a little more in the middle, just because it comes with a task-bar, whereas pekwm and openbox don't.

3) Try AWN, Cairo Dock, etc

4) Once you're ready, use openbox. It can't be beat! :)
