Hi there. I had a computer with VISTA on it. For some reasons VISTA doesn't work. I tried to save some data installing Ubuntu. The installation goes well but when I restart the computer everything disappear. Like there was no MBR. I tried to install WinXP but same, after rebooting the computer doesn't start. I understood that VISTA is different at booting but not so clear how.
Briefly, how can I install Ubuntu, or XP on this computer?

Thanks

In BIOS the HDD has:
SATA Configuration - Enhanced
Configure SATA as AHCI

and:

AHCI Port0 [Hard Disk]
SATA Port0 [Auto]

hope will help
