Problem upgrading to 8.04

Whenever I attempt to upgrade to 8.04, the process stalls during the "Installing the upgrades" step. It happens during this command:

"Generating locales...
en_AU.UTF-8..."

Any ideas why this is happening? I've let it sit for over an hour or so now, and the rest of the package installs have taken effect (I'm using Firefox 3.0 now, for example). Any help would be appreciated.

More than a few people have experienced the same problem, check out the thread below for possible solutions. It worked for me.

Thanks a lot for the info! I should have look a little further into the board history; my apologies. It's working like a charm so far, I just killed the locale-gen processes and I was on my way.
