I upgraded to 2.6.24-19 with auto update on my Gnome desktop and when I tried to boot into that Kernal (?) I got a pearly gray screen after the sign on process - no icons, no taskbars no nothing - I had to shut the power down to restart. Then I booted into 2.6.24-19 recovery mode from the grub loader screen and selected "try to fix Xserver". Now all of my versions on the Grub menu boot into a nice, pretty pearl gray screen!! Nothing will load. I was able to get 2.6.24-18 to start by selecting Gnome failsafe mode on the Login screen... How can I get my desktop back - any suggestions would be very appreciated.
