I am trying to install ubuntu on a completely formatted partition.
After booting from the Live CD, installation starts all right, but then, at step 3 it freezes without any error massages.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ev1, welcome to the forums! We can help you better if you tell us more about your system specs. Without more info, my suggestion is to try the Ubuntu Alternate Install CD, which often works when the Live CD installation fails.
