Opera 9.5 unable to connect Internet

I have installed Opera 9.5 from Opera website. But it was unable to connect to Internet. What setting should i set? While using Firefox, it can connect. Only Opera cant... what is the problem?

I use Opera 9.5, I've nothing special in the preferences.
Are you trying i.e google.com

Start opera in a terminal window, then you have feedback.
