well almost 3%

how many of those with ubuntu?

or maybe these are mostly netbooks and other UMPCs like eeePC?

how many go back to windows because of an incomplete experience from some weird "unknown" distro and lack of support?

seems to me that vendors are very interested in pre-installing it, but with so much fragmentation and lack of support on most pre-installed offerings, linux literally "kills it self"...

I would assume the latter.

I wouldn't say the inquirer is the best source of news, you happen to have another link? :)

Doesn't matter what distro it is - this is good news :)

Just think about how many computers come pre-installed with Vista and how few people who actually want it. Let's spread the love of Ubuntu!

It's all because I bought my "I do it with Ubuntu" tee-shirt.

Even if 10% of those people stay with Linux, it is a start.

It's the eeepc. And I recon it's to do with price, rather than actually caring about the freedom stuff.
