Hey all, I'm getting a new graphics card soon and I have had FSX Deluxe for ages but never been able to explore its beauty in full because my graphics have always had to be on low :(

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here plays it and wants to do some multiplayer stuff. I never like just intruding on other people's games and I want to practice some ATC. If anyone is interested, give me a shout here.

i have never found the flight model to be that realistic. especially at altitudes higher than 50000ft.(planes don't fall upwards)

also, don't want it to cut into my halflife2 time.

The insane hardware requirements turned me off it pretty much immediately. Used to be a big flight sim fan.

Hmm, hardware requirements are quite insane yes but it isn't what I asked. I want someone to fly with :p

Any takers?

I think FSX takes advantage of DX10, which iirc only works on vista?

I haven't played FS since FS2000....and why would anyone want to play FS when Flight Gear is in Synaptic :)

I'm guessing looks, gameplay, etc, etc etc.

Indeed. Even though I hate Microsoft, I have to love the flight sims. There is nothing that is the same. The flight model is great. Anyway, I am not wanting to start a thing about what flight sim is better, I want someone to fly with *ON FSX*

I have clues suggesting that fs9 (fs 2004) is better and more popular than fsx. I used to play fs9 myself.

If you want a good realistic sim try X-Plane, http://www.x-plane.com/

It has some FAA certification for pilot training.

It runs on Linux, Mac & Windows.

X-Plane may be good, yes. But I don't have X-Plane. I have FSX and I am asking if anyone wants to fly multiplayer sessions in FSX.

It seems like there is nobody and so I'm leaving the thread. If you want to fly, PM me.

Check out VATSIM (Virtual Air Traffic Simulation network), especially if you are interested in Controlling.

Absolutely love Flight Simulator. I have heard you can log your first 25 hours twords your Private Pilot License there, you just need a special controller. I haven't done much with multiplayer but sounds exciting. PM me sometime.

Yes, I do.

I run it in Windows, but I am soon to try it in Ubuntu (that would be an insane thing to do).
