I had to reinstall my drivers after uninstalling them now when I reboot I get an error about how ubuntu cant detect my graphics card. Not sure what it is but its ATI. How can I fix this?

Yes, they say they are enabled and the box is ticked. However when I go to screens and graphics it says Im using the vesa driver. I don't even know what video card is in this thing so I cant choose one manually and I'm not sure if that would work anyways!

update: I installed the proprietary drivers. I found out its an x1300. The resolution comes back fine, the log on screen looks wonderful, but once I log on the graphics are SO glitchy!! help!

******If i use failsafe gnome i can use my ati driver and have non-glitch screen and with 1600x1200. how do i get this into regular gnome??
