Caps/Number Lock in menu

Greetings,

I have an Eee PC 701 which does not have lights to indicate if the Caps/Num lock are turned on. Is there a built-in feature for Ubuntu (GNOME) or an applet that I can download to show this? If possible I'd like it to show up with the rest of my status alerts in the status applet (defaultly in the upper right corner.)

That would be great, but it is for windows.

There's a caps-lock applet for Gnome, but I did not manage to get it to work on my 9.04 Netbook Remix. You'll find it in synaptic.
