View Full Version : [ubuntu] Video clarity

I'm using Hardy with all the latest updates. When I play video in any multimedia player, the video is not very clear like in media player or any other player in Windows. I have installed VLC and it is slightly better than other players in Ubuntu. But still the video is not all that smooth. It does not get stuck or anything, but the video is squarish! When I make it full screen, I can see it's all squarish.. not clear.
My laptop has a ATI Radeon VGA. Windows uses openGL for video rendering. Do I have to install anything else like that or adjust something to fix this? Or else right now I have to switch to Windows to watch good videos!
