I am pricing out a new computer to be used as my media center. Here is a spec sheet of one of the machine I thought about.

Kinda Small form factor

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8300 (6MB L2 Cache,2.83GHz,1333 FSB)
4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 4DIMMs
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100
Integrated Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Edition
ATI Theater 650 PRO Combo Analog/Digital TV Tuner with Remote Control
Dell 19 in 1 Media Card Reader

ALSO I have the option of a ATI RADEON HD 2400 XT 256MB. Would you guys recommend that over the integrated one? Also on the TV Tuner card I have the option of a Hauppauge HVR1250 hybrid TV Tuner with Remote Control.

Here is the other machine I was thinking about:

Mid tower

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processor Q6600 (8MB L2, 2.4GHz, 1333FSB)
4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz (4 DIMM)
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
OPTICAL DRIVE 16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Radeon HD 2400 Pro Graphics Media Card
Integrated Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Edition
Hauppauge HVR1250 hybrid TV Tuner with Remote Control
Dell 19 in 1 Media Card Reader

**On the video card I have the choice of a Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 as well.

So what do you all think. Also if you have any other recommandations on other harware or a differant media center config all together im all for it.

Thanks in advance :)

Aren't ATI video cards a hassle with UNUNTU?? I know I replaced my 9800 and never looked back because of driver issues.. And get a Bluray drive.. Just got mine from Newegg, haven't had a chance to install yet..

I have the Q6600 and love it although i believe it is 1066 FSB last time i checked. Also I have that tuner card and I have been able to get digital working well but not the analog. Just make sure you know what is available in your area. I luckily was buying it for the digital capability so its okay since thats what i wanted.
