hey i dunno if it's the right category to post in but i need a download manager with resume capabilities and all that...

i recently switched from Windows to UBUNTU and i'm quite happy with the switch but i need to find a good download manager to manage my downloads

i was using Internet Download Manager in windows and was quite happy with it but i need a substitue for it in UBUNTU

Try searching the Synaptics Package Manager, There are plenty of options:
kget,Freeloader,jigdo,gwget,aso,d4x, and etc...

Try:
sudo apt-get install d4x

Why dont u give a try to aria2 , you can install it from synaptic , and it's CLI , but the command can be learn from here.

http://aria2.sourceforge.net/

I get better speed using it ,than using other dl manager

You can try the Firefox Extension DownloadThemAll. :)
