I am using VirtualBox closed source or "full" edition. I know that it simulates a graphics card though the amount of graphics memory is configurable (depending on how much you have on your actual card). I wanted better graphics for my guest OS. If I buy a better faster graphics card, would it improve the graphics inside my guest OS? Anyone tried it?

Thanks!

I would say the answer is no.

Sorry, Vbox can't emulate everything a good gfx card can do, no matter how good the host's gfx card is.

In practical terms, I don't think it's possible to ubuntu with compiz in vbox.
