Gah, for a while now I've been using Ubuntu, and after installing limewire I kept getting this message whenever I tried to update/install

E: the package limewire-basic needs to be reinstalled but i can't find a archive for it

I've tried several things, I even removed limewire through the File Browser and folders related to it/ entered commands I found in tutorials, and nothing is working! Someone please help!

6.10 is no longer supported by Canonical. Meaning the archives are no more.

Each release is supported for 18 months. 6.10 was released on 10/26/06, it's 18 months was up on 4/25/08.

You're better off downloading 8.04 or 7.10 and doing a clean install. Making such a large update would take forever, and probably break your system.

Also you can update to Fiesty Fawn (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FeistyUpgrades) then to Gutsy Gibbon (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GutsyUpgrades), but updates are more problematic than a clean install. Also if you update from Edgy Eft to Gutsy Gibbon directly, you will likely break your system.
