I just finished installing kubuntu KDE4 remix on a desktop of mine. Attached to this desktop is a nice big 21 inch dell monitor that wants to be in 1650*1050, unfortunately my card doesn't seem to want to support the resolution and drops itself back down to 1600*1200 when trying to set the resolution. Below is the output from my /var/log/Xorg.0.log

I have tried manually adding the resolution to both the monitor and screen configs. I went ahead and pasted in my xorg.conf as it appears on this machine currently. Any help would be most appreciated.

Is this resolution mode just not supported by my video card? Is it possibly not supported by nvidias binary driver? Would I be better off using nv?
