Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right area, I was wondering if it's possible to right click a file and then have an option to attach that file to a new gmail composition within firefox.

I found send-to-gmail but that didn't have the desired effect (it merely sent the file to my inbox). I have also setup a gmail imap account in evolution to attempt it that way using the send to dialogue, this worked with the exception of me having to then open evolution in order for the mail to send.

All theories on a postcard please...

This guy has gmail working as your default email app >> http://matthew.ruschmann.net/blog/Linux/gnome-gmail-1.1.html

This method wont let you attach files to emails from nautilus though.

The code is there and maybe gmail has a handy something or other in their APIs that they make available to the public.

This should get you half way there.
