Hello all,
I have recently bought a dell desktop with ubuntu 7.10 preinstalled, for some reason it wouldnt boot up first time and then would work fine after resetting the computer.
So today after finally sorting out my internet connection I decided to upgrade to 8.04 in the hope that this would sort out the problem, but now all i can get is the ubuntu loading screen with the orange line scrolling backwards and forwards for a few minutes, then going to the screen prompt and these 4 messages repeating themselves:
ata2.00: exception emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x2 frozen
ata2.00: cmd a0/00:00:00:24:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 0 pio 36 in
ata2.00: status {DRDY}
ata2.00: revalidation failed (errno=-5)

So i can now no longer use the computer
Please please could someone help me out I'm in a bit over my head
Thanks loads

Does Dell provide support for Linux (since you bought it from them)??
