Initially the HD had Win XP installed and still does. I used the 8.04 disc to install and upon reboot I was getting NTLDR not found. I have fixed this, and decided I would use gparted to setup the partitions first before trying to install again as this worked without a hitch on my old machine. The odd thing is now I see several drives listed and I only have one!

gparted shows:
/dev/sda/
sda1 NTFS Windows
/dev/sdb/
sdb1 NTFS Windows
sdb2 extended with a busy status
sdb5 ext3
sdb6 linux-swap with a busy status

I am assuming the sdb drives were created by the installer CD and the sdb drives are the correct ones. I have no idea why Windows shows twice and why I have two drives listed.

Ideas?
