Most of my production servers are running the non-long term versions of Ubuntu Server, and I would like to upgrade them to 8.04. However, I am concerned that certain packages will break during the upgrade...specifically those relating to apache, php, postgresql, courier, postfix, etc.
Has anyone attempted production upgrades? Is it safe enough to attempt? Or do you guys think the best approach is just migrating data to a new installation?
This is by no means a necessary or urgent thing, just curious if anyone has horror stories related to this.
