Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and I installed this theme: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/LiNsta+(LiNsta+is+Not+Vista+%3B-)?content=42697

I wanted it to look like this image: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=42697&file1=42697-1.jpg&file2=42697-2.jpg&file3=42697-3.jpg&name=LiNsta+(LiNsta+is+Not+Vista+%3B-)

Like the thing at the bottom. I want that, is it meant to be a part of the theme? If not, what type of theme is it? (Beryl, Compiz [I have no clue about this stuff]).

Also, when I install the theme, only the panels change and the part on Firefox where it has File, Edit, etc. And it doesn't show up under Window Border on Appearance Preferences.

Please help. Thank you. :KS

That part at the bottom is a dock. There's a few you can choose. I'm not sure what that one is as you can have different themes. The most popular is Avant Window Navigator, there's also Cairo dock and Kiba dock.

You can install AWN from the default repositories but that doesn't contain many plugins so it's better to follow the instructions here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=762363

That theme is only the gtk theme which changes the look of controls in applications. To get a window border to go with it look in the Metacity section on gnome-look.org. These are the default window themes used by Ubuntu. You can also use Emerald themes if you install Emerald as a window decorator which is explained here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=809695

If you want a window border that uses the same sort of effects in Windows Vista like transparency then you will need to install Emerald and use an Emerald theme.

If you're happy sticking with Metacity the author of that theme says this:

The best metacity themes that match this gtk theme are LiNsta Black Flat, LiNsta Black Plastic, LiNsta Black Plastic & Alu, and LiNsta Silver Plastic.
So search for those themes for a window border.

The bottom part is just the normal Gnome-panel, set to not-expanded, hide buttons enabled (without button arrows) and with a custom background image.

If the panel background doesn't come with that theme, you can iuse any jpg, png or svg ifile as panel background, just drop the image to the panel, or configure it through the panel's options (from the right-click menu).
