In my current system I have two hdds: One is XP and the other is the Ubuntu drive. The grub boot loader is set on the mbr on the XP drive. I did a search through the forums and found a lot of mixed information so I wasn't sure how to even begin.

What I want to do is wipe the XP drive, move the Ubuntu drive as my master hdd and then install another distro of linux to the wiped drive. But if I wipe the XP drive then grub is going to delete too and I won't be able to boot to Ubuntu.

Is there any tuts/faqs for this kind of upgrade/installation?

thanks in advance.
