Problm installin ubuntu 8.04.1/7.10 both.

i hav downloaded ubuntu 8.04.1 ISO from ubuntu website..
when i try to use live feature.. ma computer gettin stuck @ logon screen...
when i try to install ubuntu (INSTALL INSIDE WINDOWS), when installation is completed its askin me to reboot n remove cd.. when i do dat same problem im facing.. its gettin stuck again @ logon screen..

when i tried check for errors when bootin with live cd.. im gettin messege.. (NO ERROR FOUND)

plz help me .. no one is ubuntu user here..
no one is there to help me..


ma computer is p4 2.6ghz. 1gb ram.
XP (service pack 2)
nvidia GeForce FX 5200.
BENQ DVD DD DW1620
INTEL(R) 82801



again i hav tried to install ubuntu 7.10 also..
when i hav install it from windows xp
when i restart im gettin error..
after boot screeen..

It's a zero, as in fd0, not a letter O as in fdO.

So there is already a thread for this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2627773 which give one answer or two.
