I click on install inside windows from the ubuntu CD menu and I get the error message: "You need at least 256 MB of memory to run the installer!" I have 256 MB of RAM.

Thanks

You might find that you have something like 256000 kB of RAM which is actually only 250 MB.

The other option is to install by resizing your windows partition and making a partition for Ubuntu bu restarting your computer with the cd in the drive. This is actually quite easy to do.

Thanks, but whatever I do I get some other error message. I think I'll just wait until I can burn xubuntu.
