I always have a bunch of tabs open in firefox which I save before quitting.
In previous versions, I'd reboot/logout with firefox open so taht it asks me to restore the next time.
It's almost like autoloaded bookmarks to the sites I visit most often.
I also use it to retain threads of research for later continuation.

This was when I was still using Xp more frequently.
After a firefox update, when firefox restarted, all my tabs were gone.

Now, an update for ubuntu firefox is in the queue and I don't know whether I should prepare to lose my saved tabs so I've been avoiding it.
Does anyone know what will happen?

Thanks.

Oh no, that's not good.
If that's the case, I'd better pass.
The update being suggested for me is 3.0.1.

Could you point me to one that has tab saving features?
I only have the default extensions.

Actually, I wouldn't mind hearing what extensions you find useful.

Well for firefox 2 there is tab mix plus:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122

and for firefox 3 there is session manager:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2324
