Monitor Over Frequency

I came to Vishakapatnam a month ago for the holidays. I assembled a PC with ASUS motherboard, AMD Sempron 1150 processor, 1GB RaM and 160GB hard drive. I installed Ubuntu 8.04 1386. I bought a Intex 15'' SVGA IT-151 Monitor. Ubuntu was loading and after it was done the screen went blank and I got a message that said Over Freaquency. Help PLEASE.

I hear ya. I upgraded to 8.10 and had the same problem with my monitor. What's the deal? Any help will be very much appreciated.

YOu have to use a different monitor and edit the Xorg file/Screen Resultion to a frequency that your monitor can handle
