Overlapped text in Firefox, Openoffice and Gnome panels in upgrade to Hardy

I upgraded to Hardy and I am having a big problem with the fonts in Firefox and other applications. Everything seems to overlap! I do not have the problem in a text terminal though.

Would appreciate any help plz!

Yeah..im having the same problem, but when i increase the window it seems to straighten everything out. will this be happening everytime i open a new window?

I think this may be something to do with the ATI driver fglrx because when I uninstall it, the problem is gone but the display is obviously not good because everything look huge! Also, I have another partition where I have a fresh install (not an upgrade) and I do not have this problem.
