hello friends,
i am using xubuntu gusty presently. so i used to watch the development of xfce. but am very much disappointed to see that xfce has become something like a dead project. no new release for around 10 months. even ther is no updating in xfce home page. anybody know what happened to xfce project?. i have not installed xubuntu hardy yet as i dont like to use a software from a discontinued project.
thanks.

If you study the developers' mailing list (http://foo-projects.org/pipermail/xfce4-dev/2008-July/thread.html) or the SVN repository (http://svn.xfce.org/index.cgi/xfce), you will see that there is still activity.

Xfce is a small project in comparison to Gnome and KDE, but I don't think it is at risk of dying. Even in the scenario that the original developers would abandon the project, I'm sure that others would be interested to take over.

Off topic, you can read an interview of one of the developers here (http://lxer.com/module/newswire/view/90008/).
