Hi Folks,
Some of us have been working on getting the Breezy Live CD installed to a USB memory stick. And we have had some success. But, I would like to tickle some of your brains on an issue we've ran into ...
Over in thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=71567&page=3 ( see messages 24 and 28 ) we have been able to get the entire Live CD contents copied over and starting up from a USB memory stick. We've even been able to get the USB memory stick to bring up the Ubuntu logo and boot into the Live CD setup menus (without the Live CD in the drive bay). But it hiccups at the "mount and detect cdrom" phase of the setup.
Is there a way to somehow direct the setup menu to get the files it needs from the USB memory stick (since all the Live CD files have been copied to it), instead of the setup trying to pull the files from a CD?
Can we fake it out to look on the USB memory stick (instead of the CD) to get whatever files it needs to complete Live setup and bring up the desktop?
