I have a Q6600, and as I poke around the internet, I see that there are different kernel versions, some that work better for certain CPUs.
Can anyone point me towards a good HowTo or guide detailing this?
I am running Hardy Heron with the Edubuntu packages installed as well.

Thanks.

I think the generic kernel should do fine for your CPU. Are you unhappy with it?

Everything is speedy and fine, was just wondering if I missed something glaringly obvious to make things run speedier and finer.
Thanks though :)

As stated above, the -generic kernel should be just fine for you. The only kernel that would possibly run better is one you build yourself with a tweaked configuration. However, depending on how you use the machine, you may not notice any difference doing this and it's not trivial to do.
