I'm having trouble installing aircrack-ng on my computer. When I open the archive file (aircrack-ng-1.0.rcl.tar.gz) the file types are unknown. If anyone could tell me how to set it up and install it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Aircrack/Aircrack-ng are available in the repo. Use your Synaptics Package Manager to install it.

I'm sure there are many guides available on the forum. What do you require it for?

What filetypes are unrecognised?

Thanks for your help. I used the synaptic package manager to install aircrack-ng but I don't know what to do from there.

As for the filetype problem, try to relate the solution with this Aircrack-NG HowTo thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=528276).
