Just goofing around today with my ubuntu server and thought it might be nice to check out an upgrade, since upgrading ubuntu is so easy. Well, I guess it has been awhile. I've been following directions about upgrading to each "next" version, but I'm not getting past the first round since there are no updates or binaries available for 5.10. Help?

I have the same issue as you.
trying to upgrade from 5.10.

also if anyone answers this, is there a way to do it from command line. I do not have a desktop on here.

I tried to install the ubuntu-desktop to follow the dist-upgrade instructions but those fail

so upgrade from 5.10 Breezy from a command line..if possible.

I took a look at www.ubuntu.com (http://www.ubuntu.com) upgrade instructions, and I didn't find anything about doing a sequential upgrade from 5.10 (not too surprising, given that it hasn't been supported since April, 2007), so I suspect you guys will need to do a clean install of 8.04 from CD.

EDIT: Take a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes#From%205.10%20to%206.06%20LTS which supports my assertion, supra. Sorry.
