I'm running Ubuntu Hardy and suffering from a irritation. Every time I log in my bottom panel comes up blank, which I can solve either by right clicking on it, choosing properties, background and making any change, which causes it to pop into life; or by doing killall gnome-panel.
Deleting and replacing panels doesn't help. Next login, I'm back to blank. Turning Compiz off doesn't work either.
Any help gratefully received, especially anyone who has time to tell me *why* it's happening, so that I can learn!
THx
