installing gambas on AMD64 system

I am trying to download the latest version of gambas (v2.7) as it supports the AMD64. Unfortunately, the add/remove in option in 8.04 lists an old version and states that it will not run on my system -- it blocks my download. How can I download and install this IDE on 8.04 ? Will this version be added to the universe repository soon? Thanks.

Well my friend, first go to http://gambas.sourceforge.net/

Then you will find one link with Last stable version is 2.8.2 click on the version number and download the package gambas2-2.8.2.tar.bz2.

After that click on the link THIS PAGE and choose the Linux version you have and follow the instructions. If anything else I can Help you let me Know.
