I find that I can use both hands even though I am left handed. Sometimes I use my left, sometimes I use my right.

Well since i have 2 computers i use both at the same times sometimes. That is how i figured out that two wireless mice don't play well together on the same desk.

i am left handed and for the life of me cannot figure out why people put a mouse on the right hand side of the keyboard.

Agreed. I use whatever is needed at the time which usually boils down to space and organization. I usually use my mouse right handed though.

using the touchpad i use both my right and left hand alternately.

i've always used a mouse with my right hand even though i'm left-handed.

I'm left handed and my mouse is configured for right-handed.

I switch every so often when my hand starts getting uncomfortable using one side or the other more than the other. Right now it's on the left but I may be moving it to the right fairly soon.

With touchpads (and the eraser joystick) I use both hands.

-erp.. that doesn't sound good does it?

I am naturally a left-handed, but I use my right hand while using the mouse. I voted right-handed.

Hard-core leftie here, which is why I can't imagine ever using the mouse with my left hand. I need it for writing, flipping pages, etc. In fact, if I were right-handed, I suspect I would want the mouse in my left hand. I can't imagine how all you righties can use your mouse with your right hand! It's like tying your right hand to your side. :-)

Oh, but oddly enough, (not really) I tend to use my left hand (thumb mostly) with my trackpad.

So I suspect if you wear a watch, you wear it on your right arm? I do when I wear watches, plus my wedding band because it gets caught less often since I'm not always grabbing at things with that hand.

Well I have a Microsoft Intellimouse (superb mouse by the way) and it's ergonomic, meaning it will only fit your right hand due to the shape.

I'm left handed and use the mouse left handed, its one of the main reasons I use Ubuntu.

Agreed there should be an ambidextrous option. I switch between each hand to try to limit rsi related pain. I have my work computer set up for my left hand and my home computer for my right.

My mouse itself is on the left side of the keyboard, and if it's a laptop trackpoint or trackpad, I work that with my left hand, too. I keep it in a right-hand configuration, though.

I'm both handed mouse user. When I have a pain in my wrist, I just switch mouse to other hand.
But I prefer to use mouse by right hand. Because normal(?) people do that.

i am right-handed but i use the mouse with my left, although i can use it with my right just the same. but the mouse configuration is still 'right' -- the left button is the primary button. is that strange enough?

Right handed (Ha, I even have a right handed mouse (MX600 if anyone cares)).

I can't do crap with my left hand except... well... I'll stop there.

I use the mouse with my right hand, although I write with my left one. In general I can use things with both hands.

I can also write with my right hand, obviously (but a little slower).

Right-handed, except during the numerous occasions that I've broken that arm/elbow and had to adapt to using my left. Wasn't that hard after a few days.

Right handed - if I could actually use my left hand for anything other than typing (and slow typing at that), I would probably use my mouse in my left hand and keep my right hand free for writing and suchlike.
I really am useless with my left hand - I use it for typing (which my right hand is much faster at), carrying/holding objects (but not too heavy or I have to use my right hand), and opening doors. That's pretty much it.

Really? I'm left-handed too, but I really feel uncomfortable using the mouse with my left hand. I always use the mouse with my right hand. I'll try an FPS game (Counter Strike comes to mind right away :) ) with my left hand to see whether I can pwn more noobs that way XD !!

Believe it or not, I'm ambidextrous with the mouse... or at least I would be... but my computer desk is designed for right handed people... so I am forced to use it right-handedly.

But yea, if not for that, I would use it with both hands, in alternation, in order to create equal wear and tear in the various body-parts related to the motions... regardless, I voted "right handed"

Both, I am using my left hand as of this moment though. At home usually left hand (unless I use another family members computer), at school right hand - An ambidextrous option would be good.
