I am using a local repository, but some of the packages I chose to install (flash player 9) I have to download from the internet. Adept package manager could not connect to the internet and now the process is still running (it crashed, but it's still there when I type dpkg --configure -a in the console) trying to connect and I can't get it to stop. To connect to the internet I have to connect through a proxy server where I have to log in with a user name and password. It seems the installer does not know this.

How do I kill the process and how do I set up the proxy server so that the installer can access the internet?
