Just curious, which was the first distro to have software repositories?

I think it was debian, since it started out in the early 1990s.

For me the first was RPM on redhat 6 although I think debian was also using them at this time not 100% on that though.

Technically, I think Linux always had "repositories" and the package managers does got more sophisticated.

Look at Slackware, the oldest active distro.
