It's pretty much all there in the title. I reinstalled my whole system from scratch about a week ago. Now I've started to notice that a few programs aren't retaining any settings changes I make after I reboot.

Specifically I've noticed it in Amarok. I have to keep recreating my mp3 player settings and also the fields in the current playlist don't stay the same. Fortunately my library remains untouched.

The other big program is Compiz. It keeps tracks of changes I make within the plugins, but after a reboot it turns all the plugins back on that I've turned off and vice versa.

It sounds like a permissions issue maybe? My user can't write something to somewhere to save the changes? I'm not sure. I've run both programs through a terminal from open to close and there weren't any errors that i've noticed.

Thanks for any suggestions.
