View Full Version : [ubuntu] unwanted conversion from ogg to mp3

July 22nd, 2008, 01:35 AM
I have recently bought sansa e280 and installed rockbox version r18085-080717. I ripped quite several CDs to ogg format - the music files on my disk have ogg extension. I copied these ogg files using rhytmbox to the player. I was really surprised to discover that the same files have mp3 extensions on my sansa player!

I would like to know who is doing the conversion - rythmbox or sansa firmware? Can I prevent it from happening?

I suspect that it's RhythmBox doing it, but it's doing the conversion because the Sansa does not accept Ogg Vorbis files.

I think it's Rhytmbox too but I have Rockbox installed and ogg files are supported so I don't need any conversion as far as I can understand.
