Ok,
last time i installed Ubuntu, it gave me the option of choosing guided/a scroll bar for how large you wanted the partition
Well now its not there =[
Tried using my 7.10 live cd, and my 8.04
This is my older computer,x800 ati radeon,2.4 ghz processor{oc'ed tp 2.81 atm.} 320 gb HD, etc.
Any help on this one? im in the 7.10 live cd as we speak.

download and try the alternate cd.

and how do you mean its not there (the guided option)? in the install menu on liveCD? could be a defect on your disc, check it. could be a problem with gparted not reading your disc right.

try the alternate cd. and dont do a guided partitioning its crap right now and always will be. do a manual partition 10+gb for root 2x the amount of your memory for swap, and a boot patition can be fairly small but make it larger than u should (this is my prefrence u should build your own as you learn to use use ubuntu)

Try manual way.You can use it from live or alternate CD.For partitioning read this. (http://psychocats.s465.sureserver.com/ubuntu/installing#partitioning)
