Hi guys, I have been playing around with diffrent ubuntu distributions on virtualbox, trying to get a hang of linux. But there is something that troubles me, I want to keep the install size of my OS as small as possible, I only have 4Gb of harddrive to play with. And I just cant get ubuntu smaller then 1,3Gb, that is without the SWAP. I followed these instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/LowMemorySystems

When it was time to install a windows manager i choose XFCE4, I really like it, it has everything I need and more. But after that the install size is 1,3Gb, way to big.

So guys is there a way to make it smaller? I want the userfriendlines of XFCE but in a smaller package, how come slax which is KDE based is only 200mb in size?

PS: I'm really new with this Linux stuff so please, dont rush when you explain things. DS

Best regards Roman
