View Full Version : [ubuntu] Vista to Ubuntu dual boot problems...

I've been wanting to do a dual boot on my laptop for a while now, the only thing is that I need truly idiot proof instructions as to how that is done. Basically I understand that I have to partition off part of my hard drive for it, no problem but do I need to label that part (as in C:, D: etc.) Next question before I do that, how much should I partition off? Last memory based question, once I name that one (if needed) can I still use stuff off my other drives for it? Like say I use E: for Ubuntu and C: for Vista (needed for online classes of mine) can I use the music that I have saved in the C: in Ubuntu? Then everything after that I'm just lost on. I have my computer set up to boot from disk in the BIOS but I do believe I burned the disk wrong and thats why it wont work, but I need to know what to do after that part.

This is kind of random but how does WINE work? I understand the VERY basic level concept but not the actual workings of it.

Thanks ya'll any help that you can give me would be most greatly apperciated.
