firefox 3 bookmark icons & images

I have just upgraded from Xubuntu gibbon to heron, which includes firefox3. It is doing some weird things ever since it was installed;

1. I have the bookmarks toolbar with some of my regular sites but firefox has decided to put some random favicon on the bookmarks, such as Tesco Downloads, which used to have a red T now has google icon, and my internal router webpage, which didn't have any icon, suddenly assumed the facebook icon.

2. A few web sites images aren't showing, examples of this are DeviantART or sitepoint, it just wont show any of the images.

Has anyone else had this or am I alone?

Firefox 3 has changed how bookmarks & history data is stored and accessed..

I just re-installed Heron and suddenly have the same problem with images - it won't show any images from my local server. Even if I put in the URL of the image, it just spits the url back at me in the window, rather than showing the image.

This seems to be a problem with png images. Jpegs from the same site display okay. Any idea what the problem is?
