Hi All!

First off, I'd like to say...it's not for me, honest ;)

My mum's ("mom's" for all you Americans) birthday is coming up next month, and I was thinking of getting her a Pink laptop, since she has always dropped hints about wanting one.

The requirement for this machine is pretty simple, she just needs to be able to browse the web and do a bit of word processing...so maybe an UMPC (ultra-mobile pc) could be fine to look at too.

So far I have seen that the Dell Inspiron 1525 which can come with a pink cover. They even have a Ubuntu version which is a little cheaper. But it's still around £380 once I've added the pink cover, delivery etc.

Does anyone have any other good ideas?

Many thanks!

AJ

When I saw the thread title I instantly thought Dell Inspiron 1525, but it looks like you already thought of that. I have one, although it's not pink but rather brown (in support of Ubuntu of course). Very good machine, although probably overkill for what you want it for.

In my travels, Dell is the only vendor I've seen with a pink cover.

Please don't take this as a recommendation as I have no idea what it's like, however, what about this (http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50967103)

Here (http://www.averybrandandprint.co.uk/laptopskins/?gclid=CLO79fPlzpQCFQOaFQodASoAlQ) is another option. Just google for Laptop Skins, then you can probably get more choice of which Laptop to buy, then just fit the skin.
